    Digitalis purpurea Linn. Biennial, occasionally perennial, reaching 2 m. Leaves rugose and downy arising in a rosette, radical leaves long, stalked and ovate to ovate-lanceolate, stem leaves short stalked or sessile. Stem rarely branched and bearing a one-sided raceme 30-40 cm long. Attractive purple flowers, often spotted internally
